All horses hair is washed and dried to prepare them for braiding.
I count out for each section the amount of hairs required to be exact and make sure they are long enough for the article being made. (any short hairs are removed to avoid whispy sticky-out bits, these will be put to one side and returned to the owner if requested). I use plaiting bands to keep it all tidy and start braiding.

5 STRAND plait like SLK 2 but much tighter in feel and more defined visually.
